gov This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
The employee is expected toperform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrateleadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect.
This is a demanding position thatrequires maturity, reliability, and self-discipline.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Teaches vocational, pre-vocational, communications, mobility, daily living activities, independentliving activities and related subjects within a DJJ facility.
Provides vocational assessments.
Plans and develops pre-vocational instructions; teaches assignedareas i.
e.
, daily living, independent living, career readiness, keyboarding, career options, financialliteracy, etc.
and/ or other related subjects within DJJ.
Interprets vocational policies and procedures.
Advises superintendent and other management staff ofchange in vocational policies and procedures.
Responds to inquiries from DJJ community, facility or other agencies concerning the facility'svocational program.
Provides in-service training on vocational programs.
Attends professional, tradecouncil, civic meetings and other meetings to gather and disseminate information as it relates to vocationalprograms.
Logs observations of youth's educational seat hours.
Attends individual treatment planning conferenceand treatment team meetings.
Communicates observations with treatment team.
Prepares status reports onvocational programs for supervisor.
Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Two years of teaching experience or recreational therapy experience (some types of experience might include teaching people with sight disabilities to use a cane, a therapeutic recreation leader, teaching daily living skills, or how to communicate).
Substitute EDUCATION for
Experience:
Graduate study in a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Paraprofessional experience in teaching people with disabilities vocational, pre-vocational, communications, mobility, daily living skills, or related activities will substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis.
Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.
Prior military experience will only substitute if the individual received an honorable discharge, discharge under honorable conditions, or a general discharge.

Probationary PeriodThis job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
